Answer to is Sambo Russian

I recently posed the question is Sambo a Russian Sport or a Sport of the old Soviet Union?

You right , SAMBO – is product of USSR quality Self Defence for Citizen programme.  



SAMBO roots it not “oschepkov” or “spiridonov” as it Moscow promote it today. 

Any one who call SAMBO “Russian sport” – are kind of "nazzy" and abuse SAMBO Value. 


some facts Russians did lost and twisted for political reason:


- First SAMBO Book was published in 1915 by LEBEDEV , famous wrestling coach.

- Word SAMBO come in 1946, so till 1946, there was no SAMBO – officially. 
- Harlampiev was coached by father and grand father – famous fighter and wrestlers, and meet speridovon and oschepcov late, while he was all ready expert. 
- Harlampiev father legend and founder (pioneer) of USSR boxing 
- Every USSR republic have own SAMBO founders/peopnes, and it even not Harlampiev. Some way they are interacting, just as every FIAS member today. Point is some one do abuse SAMBO (Self Defence) History. 



About Lebedev book, yes,  technique is "funny" and andedeveloped. .... but it was first knowan to me SAMBO publisity.

So, back to hystory , correct would be to say: ALL WRESTLERS in USSR (and Russian Empire before it)  was PART OF SAMBO DEVELOPMENT .

and initially  was CALLED as FREE STYLE Wrestling.

Russian Empire it is not “Russia” , nor people who live there was “ALL RUSSINAS” . Russian Empire was formd of:
- Finland 
- Alaska
- Ukraine
- Georgia 
- Armena
- Poland 
- Estonia
etc
 
and those people are NOT ‘RUSSIAN” , and MAST be respect for impute in SAMBO development.
